Commerce City is home to Rocky Mountain Arsenal National Wildlife Refuge which provides over 15,000 acres of prairie, wetland, and woodland habitats, offering plenty of opportunities for wildlife observation, hiking, and environmental education. Another community favorite is Pioneer Park as it features sports fields, playgrounds, picnic areas, and open spaces. Commerce City is also home to one of the state’s largest Memorial Day parades. This annual event honors military personnel with a procession featuring local bands and community groups. Another event designed to bring the community together is the Music in the Park Series which is offered during the summer months. This event aims to bring people together where they can enjoy free concerts that feature local bands and artists.
